Proverbs 31 is the words of wisdom and advice concerning the role of a woman that fears the Lord. The description is not describing some mediocre, run of the mill, religious woman that has no other identity than what her husband and family bring her. No, this description is that of a woman of substance. One that is vested with authority, rulership, leadership and management, along with a list of several talents and virtues. The definition of perspective is the proper or accurate point of view or the ability to see it; objectivity. To view the Proverbs 31 woman as a woman of substance is the precise point of view. This perspective elevates her and put her in her proper place. To view her as anything else is an error.
This woman is not always portrayed as a woman of substance and authority. Many times she is described as a humble, quiet servant. That in itself is not the quintessential definition of her. She can be a servant and a queen. She is a wife, but also, a mother. She is a businesswoman, but also an artist. She is a humanitarian. The bee represents her order and productivity.
The honeybee works and engages in tasks for the benefit of the hive, rarely stopping to rest until a task is done. The queen bee brings forth a strong and productive hive. The hive cannot survive without her. There are no two Proverbs 31 women alike.
